Exponential bloom
This is an example of a bloom with "exponential" falloff.
The exponential curve is approximated by combining several Gaussian blurs at different sizes, while downsamping (e.g kind of a push-pull approach).
The result is a bloom that can affect very large areas, while still preserving local details.
