ANIMA TON - Interactive Experience
How does clay sound? What is the spirit of the ceramics studio?
ANIMA TON explores behind-the-scenes of the ceramic workshop by unveiling its hidden rooms and processes. By using 3D-scans and soundscapes we invite the public to have an interactive virtual walk through the underground labyrinth of the studio, which is only visible to the people involved. The visuals create an amorph effect which correspondes with the aesthetics of clay and its creation process. An immersive experience is created by soundscapes extracted from noises of machinery used to process clay in its different stages. The interdisciplinary approach transforms the characteristics of the material into an abstract concept that encourages a broader perspective on creative possibilities in the ceramic studio.
ANIMA TON is an art project by Charlotte Schneider, Milena Nowak, Omry Batkilin, Lukas Weinlein and Sabrina Haas. The project has been initiated by the Social Design Studio at Die Angewandte Wien.
